Polaroid taken of a man and boy in Spain, winter 2000. Taken on a Polaroid Land camera from the 1960’s.

Both were visually impaired, and the boy had a folded up newspaper, which he seemed to be using a sonar device to help them navigate. As they walked down the street, he flicked out the folded paper, and it made a clacking noise which echoed around the empty cobbled road and buildings, and they guided each other down the street.

I thought the blurred focus of the quickly taken photograph was apposite for their situation.
